Covers & Metadata...

I was wondering if it was possible to adjust the settings to your regular Calibre library (as opposed to a backup) so it does not create/use/have a separate file for the metadata and covers. I understand that those files have a purpose, but unless they are mandatory, I would rather have that information embedded in the book instead. Any advice would be appreciated.

I apologize for creating a separate thread for a question I am sure has been answered numerous times before. I looked, but could not find it. And maybe it is just my computer, but the FAQ link did not work for me using I.E or Firefox.
