Date columns of different formats - how to copy and paste between them?

I have a column that stores a date as MMM d yyyy. Copying dates from other columns that use this same format works fine.

Sometimes I'd like to copy and paste the values from the Published field, which uses a different format. It fails.

I know I can change the display via the tweaks, but before I do that is there some trick that I missed? :thanks:
